There are countless ways to enjoy the season right in your own backyard. From tree lightings and parades, to magical meet-and-greets with Santa, live music, and vibrant holiday markets, Pittsboro transforms into a winter wonderland filled with twinkling lights and cheerful decor.

PITTSBORO

Holly Days: A Festive Celebration
Pittsboro Holly Days is a month-long celebration filled with exciting events that capture the spirit of the season. 

• Pittsboro Tree Lighting
  Sunday, November 24 from 3 PM to 6 PM | 9 Hillsboro Street
  
  The Holly Days festivities kick off with a fun-filled tree lighting ceremony and a special visit from Santa. Enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, live entertainment, train rides, a bouncy house, and a vendor market brimming with holiday treasures.
  
  
• First Sunday Artisan Fair & Market
  Sunday, December 1 from 12 PM to 4 PM | Downtown Pittsboro
  
  This is a beloved tradition each month, but the December event stands apart with festive cheer for the whole family. Downtown Pittsboro will come alive with artisans, non-profits, and local businesses showcasing their crafts, jewelry, woodwork, soaps, pottery, and more. Be sure to indulge in a sweet treat from one of the holiday food trucks.
  
  
• Pittsboro Christmas Parade
  Sunday, December 8 at 3 PM | Travels west down Highway 64 (starts at MLK Drive and ends at Farrell Street)
  
  The parade will feature beautifully decorated floats, twinkling lights, holiday costumes, dancers, carolers, and other entertainment. Complimentary photos with Santa will be available afterwards at the Pittsboro Pop-Up Park.
  

CHATHAM PARK

Holiday Market at MOSAIC
Saturday, December 7 from 12 PM to 4 PM | Philip H. Kohl MOSAIC Family Commons, 367 Freedom Pkwy 

Celebrate the season right in your backyard at MOSAIC’s event lawn. The market will feature live acoustic music from special guest BigTime Shine. It is a perfect outing for families and friends.

Gather the family and drive through Vineyards and Encore to check out some of the beautiful homes with vibrant holiday lighting and decorations.

THE TRIANGLE AREA

Beyond Chatham Park, the entire Triangle area of North Carolina is buzzing with holiday cheer, offering even more opportunities to celebrate and create lasting memories. Here are two events we look forward to this year:

Raleigh: The Rink at the Red Hat Amphitheater
November 23, 2024, to January 20, 2025 | 500 S McDowell St, Raleigh

This winter, wonderland-themed ice rink has cozy stations with outdoor lounging, fire pits, and a beautifully decorated 20-foot holiday tree. The rink is perfect for skaters and spectators alike, with a snack bar offering hot cocoa, beer, and sweet treats. Admission is $15 for skaters (includes skates) and $6 for non-skaters. Be sure to check their website for hours and special community partner nights.

Cary: North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival at Koka Booth Amphitheatre
November 16, 2024, to January 12, 2025 | 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary

This enchanting festival features more than 40 stunning lantern displays, each crafted by Chinese artisans and illuminated with thousands of LED lights. Unique cultural performances make this a must-see holiday event.
