‘Tis the season to be merry and bright, and what better way to embrace the holiday spirit than by participating in the many festivities taking place around Chatham Park? From the lively celebrations of Pittsboro Holly Days to local Christmas markets, this charming corner of North Carolina transforms into a winter wonderland during the month of December. 

Pittsboro has already welcomed a variety of exciting events in the past few weeks, inviting the community to share in the magic of the season. As part of Pittsboro Holly Days, the downtown Tree Lighting Celebration took place in late November, accompanied by Santa and sparkling lights. In early December, MOSAIC at Chatham Park hosted a Pop-Up Market at 79°West. This sip n’ shop experience showcased Pittsboro vendors, live music, and delicious bites from local food trucks. That same weekend, the First Sunday Artisan Fair offered a Christmas-themed artisan market experience with crafts, music, and holiday treats for the whole family.

Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Season
December 6 – 15 from 9am-5pm
Location: Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm

Choose the perfect Christmas tree, shop for farm-made wreaths and garlands, and enjoy a hayride at this 10-day-long event. Visitors are invited to stroll through the Christmas Shop, featuring locally made and sourced items, as well as enjoy mini donuts, local apple cider from Millstone Creek Orchards, hot chocolate, and more. Bringing the whole crew? Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm is pet-friendly and has a brand-new kids playground, plus a bounce house!

Pittsboro Christmas Parade 
December 10 from 10am-3pm
Location: Begins at the Food Lion Shopping Center and travels west down Highway 64 (past the courthouse)

Bundle up for a day of excitement at the downtown extravaganza featuring marching bands, dancers, floats, antique tractors, and of course, Santa Claus. It’s the perfect annual kickoff to the Christmas season and fun for the whole family. Prepare to bring home lots of candy!

Holiday Cookie Exchange
December 16 at 11am
Location: The Travelling Café 

It wouldn’t be the Christmas season without baking! Grab a few friends and sign up for this limited-time baking class, hosted by the beloved Pittsboro culinary studio. Learn how to create an assortment of holiday cookies including traditional Greek Christmas cookies, browned butter pecan shortbread, hazelnut truffle sandwich cookies, jam-filled butter cookies, and chocolate ganache truffles.
