This month, as we reflect on where Chatham Park started, where it is, and where it’s going, we wanted to bring you all a resident’s perspective. Our community provides the perfect backdrop for residents to live, work, play, and learn. From her family’s favorite amenities, to why they chose Chatham Park, check out the Q&A below for Cassie Hill’s perspective on life and raising a family in Chatham Park.

Q: How long have you lived in Chatham Park?

A: My family and I moved to our Chatham Park home in August 2021! 

Q: What drove your initial decision to live in Chatham Park?

A: We were living in Northern Virginia during the pandemic and decided we wanted to live closer to my family. Since my husband was then able to work from anywhere, we decided it was the time to move. We thought we’d move into the community where our family lives, but they didn’t have what we were looking for, so my sister told me about a community she had heard about called Chatham Park. We drove over that same day and absolutely fell in love with our house (which was almost complete) and with the plan for the neighborhood. We put an offer in immediately! 

Q: What builder built your home in Chatham Park? Why did you choose that builder/floor plan?

A: Upright Builders built our house, and we would absolutely choose this builder and floor plan again! We fell in love the moment we saw our house and two years later feel the exact same way!

Q: What are your favorite amenities in Chatham Park?

A: It was extremely important to me to live in a community with a pool nearby and our kids absolutely love the playground and splash pad as well! Knight Farm Community Park is a core part of our lives here, whether it’s getting out some energy after school, or meeting with friends under the covered pavilion – it is a perfect gathering place for residents, family, and friends.

Q: What is the biggest perk to living in a master-planned community for yourself/ your family?

A: We love all that this neighborhood has to offer and all that is coming to the area. It’s so important to us to be able to go out and use the trails to exercise or ride bikes. 

Q: How is the experience raising a family in Chatham Park?

A: This is the perfect neighborhood for a family! We can easily walk to the playground, friend’s house, or the pool. The connectivity of the community is a key component to why we’re so happy here in Chatham Park!

Q: What does your family like to do on the weekends in Chatham Park or the surrounding towns/area? 

A: We love to explore all that the area has to offer on the weekends such as the different kids museums, the Plant, local playgrounds, concerts at MOSAIC at Chatham Park, restaurants and so much more! I also own FIT4MOM Chapel Hill so we often do a family exercise class on the weekends. We also recently started offering a Stroller Strides class at Knight Farm Community Park on Friday mornings – if anyone wants to come and try a class!

Q: You and your family have lived in Chatham Park for almost 2 years now, how has it been to see the community grow thus far? And what are you excited about in the future?

A: It has been so fun to see our neighborhood come together over the last two years! It’s great having new neighbors move in all the time and getting to know them and their families! We are really excited to see Chatham Park continue to expand over the next many years. We are really looking forward to seeing all the new restaurants and businesses move into the MOSAIC!
