A FREE lung cancer screening event is coming to Pittsboro\, courtesy of The Foundation of FirstHealth. These screenings will be offered by the FirstHealth Lung Bus. All screenings are confidential.
\nThe screening event will be held in the Northwood Landing parking lot in front of the FirstHealth Family Medicine – Chatham clinic. Just look for the teal bus with the butterfly on the side!
\nThis essential service could be a lifesaver as lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in North Carolina. We’re committed to changing this reality by offering convenient\, accessible and completely free scans designed for those who qualify.
\nTo be eligible for a screening\, you must be between 50-80 years old\, currently smoke or have quit within the last 15 years\, have a history of smoking equivalent to 20 pack-years\, and not have had a chest CT scan within the last year.
