\nIn May\, we’re featuring Victor Czar\, who is the Assistant City Manager for the City of Sanford and the driving force behind one of the most significant regional infrastructure achievements in recent NC history. A NCSU trained engineer\, Czar has served the City of Sanford since 1990\, holding positions of City Engineer and Public Works Director before rising to Assistant City Manager. In that role\, he oversaw the creation of TriRiver Water\, the utility now serving both Lee and Chatham counties.
\nTriRiver Water has already helped unlock major economic development\, including water and sewer infrastructure supporting the Wolfspeed semiconductor manufacturing facility in Siler City. By removing one of the most fundamental constraints on growth\, Victor Czar’s work has positioned the region to accommodate new housing\, commercial investment\, and large-scale industry for generations to come.

\nHousehold robotics is rapidly developing along two tracks: high cost humanoids\, and cheap desktop arms. Cable driven parallel robots are a seldom used alternative that keep costs low while having extraordinary reach. Stringman is one such robot\, that aims to make it easy to use imitation learning or eventually open source foundation models to do certain household chores while not having to balance\, navigate a messy floor\, or carry a battery.
\nThis event will be part demo\, and part education\, with a talk on the state of 3D printed and open source robotics and imitation learning and what their greatest achievements have been over the past year.

Over the decades\, he has served in a wide range of leadership roles in branch operations\, program development and philanthropy\, each deepening his commitment to the Y’s mission and expanding his impact across the region.
