Enjoy an Eventful 2021 Holiday Season in Chatham Park

Imagine a beautifully wooded backdrop, cold nights, lovely homes lit up with warm lights, and a delicate flurry of activity amongst new businesses. You have just envisioned Chatham Park during the holiday season! Add in the historic town of Pittsboro with its picturesque shops and eateries lining the street and you have a Norman Rockwell postcard in the making. As elves begin to prepare for the wonderful events in and around our master-planned community, we hope you will mark your calendars for the most magical of festivities!

Annual Tree Lighting in Pittsboro
Kick off the season with the Annual Tree Lighting ceremony on Hillsboro Street in downtown Pittsboro. This family favorite will take place on Sunday, November 21st from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and will lead into Pittsboro’s Holly Days – a series of seasonal events presented by the Pittsboro Business Association that occur each weekend in December. Be prepared for an array of activities such as live performances by choirs, bands, dancers, and theatre performers as well as refreshments in beautifully decorated downtown shops. Santa Claus sightings have also been known to happen!

Christmas Trees from Phillips Farm of Chatham
When it is time to decorate your own Christmas tree, consider a pre-cut Fraser Fir from Phillips Farms of Chatham. These freshly cut firs are grown in Alleghany County, North Carolina and come in an array of sizes from 3-foot tabletops to 13-foot marvels. You can also pick one of their Choose & Cut trees grown right here in Chatham County. This full-service tree farm carries wreaths, garland, and bows, as well as White Pine and Fraser/White Pine mix roping (garland). They also provide extra services such as the cutting and trimming of your tree to fit your stand, dislodging any stray needles, netting the tree, and tying it on your vehicle. Open the weekend after Thanksgiving, Phillips Farm of Chatham is located at 1282 Hanks Chapel Road in Pittsboro. Visit their website for hours of operation and additional details.

Pittsboro First Sunday Artisan Fair & Market
Spice up your holiday shopping during Pittsboro’s First Sunday Artisan Fair & Market. Hosted by downtown Pittsboro, this family-friendly event features food trucks and vendors selling art, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, soaps, pottery, and more. The next First Sunday will take place on December 5th from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. and is the perfect opportunity for you to find unique, handcrafted gifts for all of the loved ones on your holiday list!

Pittsboro Holiday Parade
Colorful, exciting, and just plain old fun, the Pittsboro Holiday Parade is a procession of marching bands, handcrafted floats, dance teams, horse-drawn wagons, and of course…Santa Claus. On Sunday, December 12th from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m., take in the sights and sounds of this moving celebration that travels from the east side of town through the center of downtown Pittsboro. Make sure to browse the Pittsboro’s shops and restaurants for a sweet treat or a special gift!

Miracle on Hillsboro Street
This final event of Pittsboro’s Holly Days is scheduled for Sunday, December 19th from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Chatham County Courthouse in downtown Pittsboro. Experience a live show in the historic Chatham County Courthouse with local actors and legal experts. Kids can bring a letter to Santa Claus and their letter may be picked to read during the performance! You do not want to miss Miracle on Hillsboro Street, a local tradition sponsored by Main Street Pittsboro and presented by the Pittsboro Business Association.

During the holiday season you will also have plenty of opportunities to support local businesses when you visit the restaurants in Penguin Place and MOSAIC at Chatham Park (don’t forget that gift cards make great stocking stuffers!). As more dining and shopping establishments grand open in the coming months, our community’s streets are sure to be a buzz of seasonal activity. For more information on how you can be a part of this live, work, play, learn community, visit The Chatham Park and MOSAIC Information Centers. Happy Holidays everyone!

Chatham Park Builders Win Gold and Silver at 2021 Parade of Homes Gala

And the winners are (drumroll please)…David Weekley and Garman Homes! Chatham Park is proud to announce that both of our Parade Home builders were recognized at the 2021 Parade of Homes Gala hosted by The Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange, & Chatham Counties. David Weekley Homes brought home Gold in its category for the Careywood model and Garman Homes was awarded Silver in another category for its No Little Plans design. Both homes are located in Vineyards at Chatham Park. David Weekley showcased the Careywood, a beautifully decorated model home featuring 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms over 2,300+ square feet. Enjoy a wonderfully open and airy first-floor living space and impeccable trim details throughout the home.  The Barnaby, part of Nonfiction by Garman Homes’ Quotables Collection, is the 2021 America at Home Study Concept Home. This innovative floor plan boasts over 2,600 square feet with 4-bedrooms and 3.5-bathrooms and even has a secret room (we just can’t tell you where!).

In addition to the awards, Chatham Park experienced three successful Parade weekends due to beautiful weather, well-executed events, and a steady stream of visitors to the community. During our public event, visitors were able to enjoy food trucks, a caricature artist and participate in a fun scavenger hunt that led them to different locations including the two parade homes, Knight Farm Community Park, information tables for Thales Academy, Tri Pointe Homes and Homes By Dickerson, and the new information center at MOSAIC. Participants turned in their registration cards at the MOSAIC Comes Alive event to receive a Chatham Park goodie bag. Registrants were also added to the grand prize drawings.

As supporters of the popular home tour, we recognize the opportunity to highlight not just our homes but our community as a whole. From our convenient location and stunning views to our myriad of amenities and retail spaces, we know you are going to love what Chatham Park has to offer.

Over the three Parade weekends, more than 660 people (including 230 Realtors) toured the Vineyards and MOSAIC Information Center to learn about our community, amenities, and custom homes nearing completion. We are pleased to announce that the festivities resulted in five homes sold by David Weekley, two homes sold by Garman Homes, and a custom home sale for Walker Design Build.

Ask us about upcoming events at both Vineyards and MOSAIC and we look forward to seeing you in our award-winning, technology-centric, master-planned community!

Chatham Park Plans for A New Community Amenity Coming Spring 2022!

Amenities are at the heart of the Chatham Park master-planned community. We are committed to offering residents and guests a community which encourages a well-rounded life. To achieve that goal, we continue to develop resources and facilities that will enhance the Chatham Park lifestyle and build on our five pillars of Innovation, Connectivity, Quality Design, Healthy Balance, and Stewardship

Our next recreational venture, Paddles – a swim and pickleball amenity – will be the perfect complement to our community vision and provide area residents with even more leisure options. Scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend 2022, Paddles will be located in the Vineyards next to Knight Farm Community Park and will feature a six-lane competition-style pool with a slide, a kiddie pool, and a concession stand for future swim meets. Members will benefit from the cabanas, individual loungers, and outdoor showers. Outside of the swim area, plans are underway for eight pickleball courts, a nod to the growing popularity of this niche sport. Not familiar with pickleball? Easier to learn than tennis with less stress on the joints than aerobics, pickleball is a great way to stay healthy and meet your neighbors!

We are also excited to utilize Paddles as our new Information Center for the Vineyards. The club building will boast a sales center, offices and a kitchen area for sales center employees, a pool equipment room, restrooms, and a concession stand. Stay tuned as we will continue to introduce even more amenities to be delivered!

Membership at Paddles will be available to Chatham Park residents and non-residents alike. Fees and membership structure are still in development.

We look forward to sharing more details about this exciting addition to Chatham Park as they become available. Paddles is just one more example of the incredible growth happening in our technology centric 7,068-acre live, work, play, learn master-planned community located just outside of Raleigh in Pittsboro, North Carolina. For more information on our current amenities, our homes, or how we are fulfilling our promises for more balanced lifestyle opportunities, visit us at www.ChathamPark.com.
